Mahasannyasini Sri Sri Samhita Devi, officially Mangalmayee Bandyopadhyay and affectionately Sri Sri Mamoni, dedicated Her life to serving humanity. Born to Hrishikesh Bandyopadhyay and Smt. Urmila Devi, She was the only child of a devout family devoted to Sri Sri Babamoni.

When She was one year old Her mother passed away. Her father, a diamond merchant, renounced household life and entrusted his daughter and his wealth to Sri Sri Babamoni, who raised Her at the Ashrama.

She completed matriculation from Varanasi, a bachelor’s degree from Calcutta University, and master’s studies at Jadavpur University and Banaras Hindu University. When Sri Sri Babamoni later offered to return the wealth entrusted to Him, She refused and dedicated Herself to Her Guru and His mission.

On 27 October 1970 (Kartik 10, 1377 B.S.), at a congregational assembly in Pupunki, Sri Sri Babamoni publicly named Her His sole spiritual successor. After His passing in 1984, She led the Akhanda Sangathan. She was known for kindness, deep knowledge, a soft-spoken nature, and motherly forgiveness. Her life ended in a tragic incident at Gurudham, Kolkata, on 16 April 2008.
