Ayachak Ashrama
Ayachak Ashrama is a spiritual institution helping men and women of all castes and creeds on their onward journey to God. It never raises subscriptions, never begs, and never asks for contributions from outside. It helps the needy, feeds the poor, distributes medicines to the sick, and renders help to the distressed. For funds it depends upon God alone. Nobody is allowed to know what the Ashrama wants or needs.
The first Ayachak Ashrama was founded by Sri Sri Swami Swarupananda Paramhansa Dev in 1927 at Pupunki, now in Jharkhand, and later at Kolkata, Guwahati, Agartala, Varanasi, Andal, Rajgir, and other places.
The Akhanda Mandali began in 1915 from Sri Sri Babamoni’s love for all. The mantra in which He initiated disciples, a mantra of unbounded limitlessness, He styled the Akhanda Mantra. Disciples are not bound to the names of particular gods and goddesses, and so they are called Akhandas.
The main programme is Samabeta Upasana, congregational prayer, in which men and women of any caste, creed, and nationality may take part. Omkar and Gayatri, long withheld by convention from women and from Shudras, are open in this prayer.
Universal reverence
They worship the Pranava, the universal consciousness.
Inclusivity
They honour people of every caste, creed, and nationality, including those whom convention had excluded.
Self-reliance
They follow Ayachak: they do not ask anyone for anything, and they rely on their own effort and on grace.
Service
Character, purity, and the welfare of the world guide thought, word, and action.
